The Alpha Derma CE cream was originally created in ’04, and the main claims made by the product are that it can fight the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck. The marketing behind the product often uses phrases like “better than Botox” and “facelift in a jar”. They also claim that the product can restore sagging skin, and also combat stretch marks.
So what are the main ingredients that are supposed to deliver on these claims?

There’s many, many ingredients listed on the bottle. But the main ones are alpha lipoic acid, elastin, collagen, vitamin C, and Dimethylaminoethanol (known as DMAE, for short). This ingredient is the main one to pay attention to – and it’s claimed to be like a “facelift in a jar”. However, these claims are questionable, and haven’t been clinically verified.

DMAE is supposed to tighten the skin, which will create a firming effect. But again, this hasn’t been verified in a lab. This isn’t to say it doesn’t work, though – as there are several favourable reviews (as well as negative ones, which we will come to shortly).

So, what are people saying about the product?

From my research, it seems there’s both positive and negative feedback. Their official website is full of glowing positive testimonials, as you may have expected. But further digging into unbiased feedback online reveals another side of the story. While there seems to be more positive feedback than negative, the reviews rarely show the product living up to the marketing hype which surrounds this particular brand.

One user stated they had been using the product every day for a year, and it has been working very well. They noticed the initial effects after one month, and after using it all year – they have achieved smoother skin, reduced fine lines, and “fresher” looking skin. However, a year’s supply of this product is going to cost A LOT of money.
